February 7, 2023 Meeting

Notes

The Office 365 link in the footer across the websites is broken due to the previous office365.hsc.wvu.edu URL no longer redirecting to the current outlook.office.com URL.

Most of the other websites within the University and most other university websites do not list in a link in their footer to log into email and other applications directly, including for MIX and SOLE. Rather than updating this link, we proposed pushing internal users to the Hub for these resources instead and making this link more prominent on the Hub pages, potentially as the first thing in the left area above traffic and PRT status. Pushing internal users to Hub will help them become more familiar with using Hub as the internal resource.

Shawn suggested that we convey this update in E-News and that we temporarily update the broken Office 365 link in the footers in the meantime.

We also discussed making the Employee Hub link more prominent in the footer of each website, or at least on the WVU Health website, with a brief message about it.

Well-being

As discussed in our previous meeting, as the Well-being section is completed, a link to the Well-being page and links other wellness resources will be added to a common sub-footer at the bottom of each page in each school's website and prominently displayed in SOLE. The intention is for every website at WVU to present these resources.

Tara mentioned that she intends to show the Well-being section in the Purpose Council meeting today. Jess and Bill will continue to make final edits to this section.

Medicine homepage update

Cassie shared her ideas to update the content and layout of the homepage, and we're working on an updated design to propose during the next communicator meeting in March. Cassie is hoping to use the structure of the updated homepage as a starting point for the clinical department pages.

We will use this as an opportunity to push brand patterns at the school level.

Social Media

Tara suggested that Tyler promote the current American Heart Month message on the WVU Health homepage to social media.

As an aside, Jess expressed confusion about which cover layout option to choose from when adding a new one. We intend on putting a guide together about this with suggestions for using each layout.

Wayfinder

The Charleston campus utilizes an interactive "wayfinder" at each info-station around the campus. Tyler inquired about potentially replicating this at the Health Sciences campus and found that the Charleston campus worked with Chewie to place created vector graphics on the info-stations that are controlled by items in a spreadsheet.

Tara suggested that Tyler reach out to Danny Owens who may already be working on this as a part of facilities.

Faculty and Staff Assistance Program

Shawn launched the new migrated Faculty and Staff Assistance Program website.

Operation Blue Sky

As discussed in a previous meeting, a callout for the Operation Blue Sky information will be presented on the Who We Are page that includes an image and/or video and a statement that highlights the outcomes. The remaining information about this will be placed in Hub.

Laura Gibson is eager to get this information added. Bill and Jess will review the existing content and Tyler will continue editing the already captured video.

Student health

As discussed in a previous meeting, Jess is reaching out to the Student Health group about presenting information about allergy shots along with other proposed content updates.
