December 12, 2023 Meeting
Notes
Curriculum & Academic Policy
Jess will let the school communicators know that the structure is set up in Umbraco for the curriculum and academic policy items. Once the information is added, Jason will build the front-end to present this information.
WV Parkinson's Registry
We discussed the feedback from the WV Parkinson's Registry group about our proof of concept for the website.
We will update the color scheme, graphics, and language to be less focused on WVU to show progress on our end.
Jess shared about half a dozen content items that have not yet been delivered from this group, including information about the advisory committee. We can move forward with adjusting the structure of the homepage mockup and with building the other pages once we have more content.
December commencement
The Health Sciences December Commencement website looks great. Jess will be sharing commencement information along with the website later this week.
Institute for Community and Rural Health preceptors
As discussed last week, we met with the ICRH preceptors group to review the initial structure of this information in Umbraco. The designated editors in this group have not been added to Umbraco yet.
Matt is currently working on building the template for this preceptors page to be able to show this group what the page will look like.
Faculty Development
As discussed in a previous meeting, we revisited the inquiry for adding a calendar component or page to the Faculty Development website to feed events from WVU Calendar.
We will decide whether it will be feasible to continue adding these events under the HSC department in WVU Calendar and pull them using a unique tag or if a new department should be created for these events.
Research and Graduate Education
Jess mentioned that the events in the Research and Graduate Education website have become disorganized. We discussed working with this group to either better organize these events under this website or to transition to using the events module for these events.
WVU Alert
Jason mentioned that we are currently planning out how to implement the WVU Alert system into each of our websites with the intention to implement this after the holidays. We're hoping to reach out to the group that manages this information about what data is provided by the API.
Analytics
As discussed last week, Bill is working on providing analytics to various groups.
We're unsure whether Microsoft Clarity is tracking sub-sites that share the "health.wvu.edu" domain and we will ask Shawn about potentially adding the Addiction website, along with other sub-sites, to Clarity.
Evergreen content
Jess is hoping to work with Cheyenne on creating an abundance of reusable content that can be used on the WVU Health homepage and in Spotlight when there aren't any notable topics to highlight.
Tyler inquired about creating a variation of the WVU Health homepage that highlights a news story and presents this story in an engaging way, potentially supported by other stories. He will run this idea past Tara while we discuss the potential implementation of this.
