The meeting began with Nikky wrestling with some audio issues on her computer. Unfortunately, that left her silent for the majority of the meeting.
However, we briefly touched on updates to the Newsroom and Events projects the web team is working on. Also, Shawn and Dan provided a preview of the Research Grants project on the Health Sciences website (with the live version launching not long after).
For Newsroom, progress is being made. Dan is in the coding phase and is implementing all of the design choices that have been discussed. We have a programmer assisting with the project, and he is making really good progress. From a permissions and filtering standpoint, there will be plenty of improvements as a part of this project. In the current News system, there really is only one content type that can be created, a story. In the new system, we’ll have plenty of additional content type, including the ability to create profiles there instead of in Umbraco.
