1/16/19 Meeting

Notes

What We Discussed

  • Strategic Planning – Design inspiration based on the Johns Hopkins Strategic Plan – Kim has requested a page similar in structure to discuss SPH’s new strategic planning. We agreed to create a modified content page – an area for rich text, an area for a blockquote style, and an area to list out the main goals/subpages (with titles, blurbs, and links). Originally Kim was asking for Monday, however they have since changed the day to Wednesday. We agreed that if they wanted more than that, they’d have to “get in the back of the line” – especially since they ignored her request(s) to join their meetings.
  • Residency Programs – Once the new Residency Programs are filled with content, we will change the button verbiage on the Students Page to reflect that there is more than once program now. We also discussed how this ties into the Occupational Medicine Department Page – this content should be migrated to live under the new Residency Programs. Recruitment info like that should not be living under a department page. Kim said she would look over the content and see where she can fit it all under the new Residency Pages.
  • Student Announcements – Kim asked if we could set up a page like we did for Internal Announcements – a news feed page with no images. We have no issue doing this.
  • Practice Based Experience Job Board – We showed this design mock up to Kim, who was fine with it, so we will move forward.
  • Research & Services – Kim wanted to remove the Opportunities bar from the Research & Services Page. We weren’t sure if the blue bar would disappear if she removed the links, but it did! We also added the Research Database bar which is editable and ready for her to change whenever she needs.
  • Audit – We reintroduced Kim to the Audit We showed her a few notes we left as we started doing some minor site-wide sweeps to check our sites for accessibility issues – and have left those notes in Audit. She was thrilled to see it again as last time we showed it to her, I believe it was still in development. We recommended she use it for whatever she felt necessary, that it’s a tool for her to make her life easier. We also pointed out that in the latest Umbraco Update, you can view the history of page changes on any page through the “Info” tab. This could be useful in seeing what other editors have been up to (or not been up to..)
