September 1, 2022 Meeting

Notes

Committees

Zane requested that a "Courtesy Faculty" role be added as an option for committee members.

Strategic Compass

Cassie and Zane requested the following edits to the Strategic Compass templates:

  • Move the rich text field on the main page to below the video. Mission and Vision will stay where they are.
  • Cassie added the "Strategic Priority:" phrase in front of the description on each priority page. There might be a better way to bring attention to this phrase.

Alumni Profiles

The Alumni Affairs group requested that alumni profiles are grouped better and potentially into larger groups according to program type. Cassie inquired about a way for profiles to have an expiration date and automatically unpublish or become hidden in Umbraco.

With the idea to move profiles into the upcoming Newsroom application, better organization and handling outdated profiles are priorities.

In the meantime, outdated profiles can be manually removed from the website. Shawn pointed out that any MD profile with an image with a cutout background is visibly outdated. Zane will provide the criteria for what makes a profile outdated moving forward.

Additionally, Azalea has expressed concern about the majority of alumni profiles being MD profiles and that the undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs are not represented. This has lead to the overuse of custom profile macros throughout the hidden Professional and Undergraduate Programs section.

Analytics

Bill shared the Google Analytics report for August 1 - August 31, 2022.

  • The Residents page was the number 1 visited page in August.
  • Almost half of users are using a mobile device. Shawn pointed out that "mobile" is typically the most used device for visiting pages in the other school websites and that this has been a slow shift in the School of Medicine website analytics catching up with the other schools.
  • Per Cassie's request, Bill will pull the monthly analytics for the hidden Professional and Undergraduate Programs section.
