Virtual Tour
Andy came back to the Health Sciences campus on October 30, 2020 and Dave lead Andy through to capture the remaining spaces. They also captured additional spaces throughout. Dave checked in with Andy on Thursday, November 5, 2020 to ask him about a timeline for when we can expect to receive the Google Maps URLs with labelled areas.
Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences
The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences requested a way to add brief biographies and headshots for particular faculty and staff to the website to help prospective students and residents get to know these people better. We all agreed that we'd prefer to use Directory for this but faculty and staff don't prefer to use the HSC Directory macro to list people for this purpose because the biography is not visible on a profile's front page.
As a potential solution, we proposed using the Short Bio field in a Directory profile to show at least a lead-in to a full biography on the front page of a profile and to add an option to the HSC Directory macro to choose which tab the "View Profile" button links to.
Who We Are
In the next few weeks, we will meet about improving the Who We Are page to better present diversity and culture in the School of Medicine through student, resident, and faculty testimonials, similar to the School of Public Health's Who We Are page. We will invite Wendy Holdren to help with messaging about diversity.
Coronavirus
Dave encouraged everyone to update the Coronavirus Information area of the website to include information for students returning to campus in January or sooner.
