WVU Dental Discussion 7/23/19

Notes

We talked about a whole bunch of stuff today, so here's the important things as briefly as I can make them

  • The Emergency Services page is going away. It will still be listed under services, but will link to the Urgent Care page. This fixes unnecessary repetition and confusion. The Urgent Care page will not list any services as a result. She is going to let us know whenever she's moved any content on the current service page to the Urgent Care location page. Then we'll handle the rest.
  • The "Schedule an Appointment" box
    • On every Location page, there is now room to add "Appointment Notes". This is any information that is specific or should be noted when people are trying to make an appointment. It is not required.
    • On the Urgent Care page, the heading will change to "further information". The phone number will be removed. The "appointment notes" for this page will have a larger character allowance. We agreed this would be a good place to say walk-ins only, and if it's after hours go to the emergency room, plus whatever she thinks is applicable here.
    • On the Diagnostic Sciences page, the heading will change to "further information".
  • We talked about keeping content in the Hours area condensed and minimal. On the Student Clinic Page, take any expanded information about the process and move it to Additional content. Move any content specific to making appointments into the new "Appointment Notes" area. We talked about how some of the information she'd put in the hours area might be better suited in a "Once You're Here" type of area. This doesn't seem to exist in many places, and she thinks the map will eliminate the need for any such additional information. In the off case there is something like that, she said she would just put it in the existing Additional Content area.
  • Sunshine said she wants the "What to Remember" section moved up on the Urgent Care Page. We talked about how if it is something that applies to every service, we could create an area for all of them. We agreed to do so.
  • We added the Table of Contents which Sunshine was very happy about. We agreed to change it so only h2s are pulled into it, anything below that level is not.
  • We will add a button to every fees area in the site, which will point to the fees page.
  • Sunshine explained where everything was on the indoor map. We agreed to start with just labeling the registration areas and footpaths from the pylons and the main side door. We'll review it with her once we have an accurate prototype and make sure it's good. We can tweak it down the road. It was attached to the follow-up notes e-mail.
  • We chatted about reformatting the content she has in each Provider Type on the Types of Provider page. She was on board. She's unsure of whether she'll be able to get a stat to fit the "$$$" / time stats for every provider type. We all agreed if she couldn't, it would be weird if only some of them did; it should be either all or none.
  • We're going to figure out a solution for the "a vs. an" situation on service pages.
  • Diagnostic Sciences page will not have the same built in content sections as the other services. It's pretty unique and most of it doesn't apply.
  • Sunshine said we could go ahead and design the Patient Services landing page based off the structure she's created.
  • We discussed a few different things that will be down the road content/features. We will cross that bridge after launch.
