What We Discussed
- Department of Endodontics - Sunshine mentioned that there seems to be some concern about where their content is - once we investigated we realized that there is no Endodontics department page. We were confused at first, but as we looked back at the Site Map suggestion and the old website, we remembered that we came to the conclusion that they had no content and left it out because of that. I made a new Department Page in the meeting and left it unpublished for Sunshine to go in and populate with content.
- Research
- COHRA - We discussed COHRA today and we all seem to agree - it seems to be a research project. If it is not an entity of some kind, it shouldn't be a subsite. We also understand that it may not necessarily be something that can be undone, but we are going to look into the history of it and try to answer some of these questions before we decide what to do with it.
- Continuing Education - We showed Sunshine the proposal for the Conferences & Courses bar on the Continuing Education page. She was very happy with the proposal and agreed to let us make it live. In the future we are going to make the Upcoming Course Information page more dynamic. We won't be able to do that part until we get things figured out with the CE feed. We will consult with Shawn when he returns to see what the timeline will be for new Upcoming Course Information page.
- Emergency Content Removals - Sunshine was concerned about some sensitive content matters that may need to be handled if any PR nightmares are afoot. In terms of directory, you have management rights so you should be able to remove if necessary. If you have any problems with that, you can contact CMS Desk (hsc_helpdesk@hsc.wvu.edu). In terms of content on your website, you have full reign and can edit anything as necessary. I would also recommend if you have any questions about handling such things, Kim Becker has had things like this pop up, so she may be able to give you advice or point you to any protocol we may not be aware of.
- Clearing Your Cache - This is totally unimportant but we explained how clearing the cache fixed the problem on the Students Page. We realized that we don't ever really go into much detail about this to you - or other Communicators - when we talk about clearing it. We are talking about adding a Website Content Guide page to briefly talk about what this means so you guys aren't clueless, and maybe instructions (or point you to directions else where) of how to clear it in case you need it.
- Alumni - We briefly talked about the future of the Alumni Page. Once the content is what Sunshine thinks is a good place, we can revisit it and talk about designing it out into a landing page (right now it's just a content page).
- Research - We briefly discussed this again, and let Sunshine know that once she has migrated content between the old and new page we can take care of the rest.
