What We Discussed
- Scary Alumni Association Website??? – We brought this up to see if there were any updates. Sunshine said there is no news but asked us to let “the powers that be” know about this website as it is a big no-no. Shawn agreed and started the process on his end during the meeting.
- Outreach Programs/Events
- Destination Dentistry – We discussed the Destination Dentistry event page design. We talked about how the page would be a trial of sorts in the first steps of figuring out how to handle outreach event pages going forward. We said we would have the design sent to her to approve/ tweak by the end of the week. Once that’s done, it can go live pretty quickly, as we know registration has already started. Sunshine mentioned that so far registration is going well with the page she already has, which is good. We talked further about how the goal in the future for all of these events is for Sunshine to start planning/mapping out when events are coming up and, ideally, we could start meeting with her to discuss them approximately two months in advance. This would allow for us to build out a more engaging page. Which led to…
- Dental Academy – Upon hearing our hopes for future planning, Sunshine mentioned that Dental Academy was going to be starting up again in the Summer and would need promotion. She said that she would be meeting with someone to talk further details and gather information. Once we have finished the Destination Dentistry page, it will be a good starting point to work on Dental Academy.
- Student Profiles on the Students Page – Sunshine was having problems getting the three profiles at the bottom of the Students Page to show up. We went into Umbraco and walked her through the steps to update it. This can be done by adding/removing individual profile pages under the “Current Students” tab.
- Students Breakdown – Sunshine mentioned that there was some feedback about wanting to change the way the Students Page/program breakdowns are done. They are proposing breaking programs down by the department/specialty/concentration rather than by program type (Endodontics, Prosthodontics, Periodontics, rather than Undergrad, Grad, Masters, Bachelors, etc.). We talked about our schools all having program breakdowns very similarly and have not run into this before. We also talked about how we research other colleges/schools to see how they break things down design wise and structurally. Sunshine also pointed out that if we broke the programs out the way it was being suggested, each group would only have one item. We agreed to do some further research to give her some back up.
- Newsletter E-mail – Sunshine wanted to send out a newsletter through SOLE News. Shawn will work on getting the information to her.
