What We Discussed
- Scary Alumni Association Website??? -Sunshine made us aware of a website made by the Alumni that is taking donations through PayPal, among other egregious violations of the University. We will let the appropriate people on our side of the fence know about this, and forward you any related information you could share with them about why they cannot do it the way they are (if the meeting doesn’t get cancelled before that because the website is discovered). Sunshine, do you have any updates on this or need anything from us?
- Internal Announcements / Calendar Confusion – I’m not even going to attempt to fully detail what was discussed, but overall - the only way to have your "internal" events show up on both calendars is to 1.) either let us add the internal calendar to the calendar page (which will show ALL things in that category) OR) add the events to your internal calendar and, if you want it on the main website, also submit the event to the main SoD calendar. Ultimately the solution would be to use the calendar as it was intended to be used - one calendar with multiple categories - but we understand that may not be possible. If there's anything you need from us that could help remedy the situation, let us know. J
- Tuition – We discussed Tuition and where it could be moving forward. Referencing Nursing’s new Tuition widget and Medicine’s Tuition Breakdowns, we touched on why we think these pages are important and how they can be customized to fit your school’s particular needs. Dan and Shawn even mentioned how the Tuition page could feed into the FAQ page as you work to organize that, and vice versa.
- Dental Hygiene FAQ Page – Sunshine mentioned the need for a FAQ page for Dental Hygiene similar to the DDS FAQ Page and was wondering what the best avenue would be. We explained that the best route at this time would be to format the new page like the existing DDS FAQ Page, but to ignore the top listing of link questions. Once that’s done, Sunshine can work on categorizing the actual questions in an effort to take it from one large, broad page to a few smaller but more concise subpages. After that’s complete, we can revisit it and see if there is more to be done to make FAQs more clear on our end.
- Student Resources – There’s still no way to get to this from the Students Page, so I will work to add something in the interim. Down the road, it will likely be expanded upon.
- Destination Dentistry (this happened after the meeting) – Sunshine mentioned that registration is coming up and they would like to promote this on the DD Page. She is going to brainstorm and throw some ideas together, and we will do the same. Registration is likely to open February 1st and the event will be on April 6th. If this is top priority, this will need your focus so we can give you something quickly.
