Notes
- General Updates - We are continuing to work on the new News system as well as the creation of Events to work alongside WVU Calendar. Sunshine is having a go link made, and is seemingly dealing with the Ortho madness. Things have quieted down and she suspects that the next time she gets a request about it, she'll ask for information and then it'll fall off again. Sunshine plans on spending the next few weeks just looking through data on Cabin and generally checking on things. No one currently wants anything particularly and she suspects it'll stay that way with the holidays coming up.
- Careers - Sunshine wants to pitch that Careers be taken down, as it is out of date. Shawn offered to turn it off, and Sunshine wants to wait a little bit longer so no one freaks out that it is suddenly gone. We were unsure if she wanted it simply removed from the nav, or if she wanted it gone all together. Ultimately she wants it to be gone completely.
- Who We Are and About - Shawn mentioned we would like to try and transition "About" pages into Who We Are (WWA). He's hoping we can work on changing some of the language to try and roll it into WWA, as well as clearing up the navigation and putting that content where it may actually be more effective. Sunshine mentioned that she only really references that section when she needs contact information. Shawn explained we are working on placing more prominent and effective contact information throughout the sites, such as in the footer. We can work with Sunshine to see where some problem areas are and try to improve those. Sunshine gave the example of someone coming across the "Missions" area and if someone has confusion related to that, we could potentially find a way to help deal with that design-wise. Shawn says we are working on narrowing down our schools navigations and it will hopefully allow for better conversation about problem areas.
- Renovations, renewed energy, and the future - Sunshine wants to work on a new feature as things with the new Dean are creating new energy and new projects - specifically a new video. Shawn suggested perhaps additionally adding a box on the Students page where we could link to the video. Sunshine also mentioned the renovations are continuing and people are coming next week to film the "afters" as well as talk about the other projects coming up next. She is thinking she'll have updates in the next few weeks. The video will be student friendly, casual, and will feature multiple students, which Sunshine thinks is important in reaching the audience as well as encouraging Alumni to stay invested. Shawn said that is something that could be added on other parts of the site as well.
- The new dean is apparently a super hero - during an interview someone in the waiting room collapsed and he saved the day!!
