Home Page

We will be replacing the verbage for the first homepage feature story shortly.

About Page

  • Still wrapping up some content items.
  • We will be getting a different photo for the feature there.
  • This will be the home for the faculty profiles section at the moment.  We can discuss how these can live throughout the website post launch.
  • Wendy will be supplying the about blurb.

Research Page

Nicole had a blurb for the page and will send that over to us in slack to replace.

Events Page

  • Matt is currently updating the top of the page with the afternoon of science event and a Rezai photo.  Nicole mentioned that this has not been confirmed yet but this is the consensus and said we could put it up there.
  • We can hide the Van Liere for now.
  • Nicole is waiting on a photo from Mallory for the Women in Science event but the content is updated.

Curriculum Pages

  • Dan has been working to make the curriculum more accessible and consistent. The example show was https://health.wvu.edu/research-and-graduate-education/graduate-education/ms-programs/health-sciences/curriculum/.
  • We cleaned up the way curriculum will be input so the goal will be to finish building this out all the way.
  • Research and Graduate Education is the prototype for this new curriculum format but the plan is to continue this pattern to other websites.

Women Focused Page

  • Will include Women at Work podcast, highlighting the Women in Science seminars across all basic sciences departments, and any other email focused initiatives. 
  • Nicole feels like this is an initiative and while it encompasses events it is not an event by itself.
  • Could possibly make a highlight on the homepage and it would be a bit of tighter area under the main feature. Not as big as everything else, maybe WVU gold or a contrasting color to make it stand out.
  • It could live on a root level page but not part of the main navigation.
  • Could select the events that are related to the event.  Those would still live under events but would be added to the page.
  • Nicole asked if we could tie in the calendar to the page.  Would have to add a sub category to the events in the calendar that would be pulled. Could send an email out to Jay Allen to ask for a sub category for tagging purposes. Nicole need to determine what the sub category will be called.
  • There might be more initiatives coming down the pipeline that could benefit from this structure.

General Content

  • Wendy asked if we had an overview for the System Toxicology training program.  Nicole mentioned that this would not be much different from the programs current summary.  Content is very basic because it is not a full training program.  Wendy will put what is in the summary there temporarily.
  • Nicole completed the student success overview.

Launch

  • Planned for 2:00 today.
  • Touch base ten or fifteen minutes before 2:00 to make sure everything is good to go.
  • Shawn is going to make sure the go.wvu.edu/biomedphd is ready to go and that the C8 URL is still the same.
  • Make sure the MD PhD program URL redirect is good.  Recruitment begins tomorrow for that program.
  • Shawn reminded Nicole that if there is something on fire after launch to reach out to us.
