Headline: Reuniting in-person for a special celebration.
While West Virginia University commencement ceremonies will look different this year, our graduates will be able to celebrate their achievements in-person May 15-16 with COVID-19 restrictions in place, such as limited capacity, mask-wearing and physical distancing. Not only will 2021 graduates be welcome to attend in-person, but 2020 graduates are welcome to participate as well.
Dr. Patrice Harris, a three-time WVU alumna and the first African American woman to be president of the American Medical Association, will speak at all four commencement ceremonies. Harris has been an active leader in organized medicine for her entire career, including as chair of the AMA Opioid Task Force since its inception in 2014.
We're looking forward to hearing Dr. Harris' inspirational words, and we're looking forward to seeing all the ways our newest graduates will take their Mountaineer values into the world.
