September 13, 2022 Meeting

Notes

Video for cover page

Tyler provided the .webm file of the background video to accompany the Healthcare Simulation Week (September 12, 2022) message on the WVU Health cover page. Tyler will also provide the required .mp4 file.

Museum

In the interim of hiring a curator for the Health Sciences Museum, Dan added a simple subpage under Who We Are for Bill and Jess to begin adding general information about the museum including photos and a link to donation information in the WVU Libraries website.

A "health.wvu.edu/museum" URL will be created to point to this page once the page is "live".

Well-being

We added a simple subpage for the upcoming "Well-being" landing page under the WVU Health website for Bill and Jess to begin hashing out the content. They are encouraged to include notes about page layout and link to any desired photos or videos to include.

Virtual Tour

Tyler provided the link to the Health Sciences virtual tour video on YouTube. This embedded video will replace the Google Street View map on the Morgantown Campus page and will eventually include the timestamp links. Right now, the timestamps do display in the description but are not linked to anything. We will eventually add these timestamps as either simple links or as linked thumbnails.

In the meantime, we will embed the video with the clickable timestamps in the video's progress bar.

Events

As Bill and Jess have started adding events for Week of Purpose and Global Health Week, we discussed the following:

  • Tara asked whether past events will remain in the main feed of events. We explained that we are currently working on a solution to push past events in a separate area at the bottom of the page.
  • We agreed that we need to set guidelines about which events should be added in the Events module and which should only be added to WVU Calendar.
  • Will events from WVU Calendar be listed anywhere within the Events module?
  • Tara mentioned that she's heard several requests about having a traditional month-to-month calendar view. We don't have any intention to add this view in the Events module.
  • We confirmed that we do plan to use the Events module for conference type events, specifically for the Department of Medicine's conferences. Tara mentioned that the department is adamant about including the graphic pieces that they have created for each conference.
  • The School of Public Health will be first school to use the Events module for their 10 year anniversary events. Nikky will be given access to the WVU Health Umbraco to be able to add these events. Similarly, when the School of Medicine begins using the Evens module, Cassie and Zane will be given access to the WVU Health Umbraco and all event requests, including for conferences, will go through them.
  • We mentioned that due to the high volume and flexibility of displaying diversity related events, we will probably create a separate events section for diversity events.

IPE

The Interprofessional Education group has requested to make edits to their website and Jess will work with them to make these edits.

Communication Guide

Jess changed the "Quick Links" page into an FAQs page. Jess and Bill will organize the top-level pages into larger "buckets" of information.

We will change the way that the cards on the home page are populated by adding the option to manually select the pages to highlight rather than this automatically populating.

We are hoping to "launch" this new website by Friday, September 16th.
