September 12, 2023 Meeting

Notes

Spotlight

We reviewed the spotlight concept for creating landing pages that focus on a particular topic with supporting resources including copy and links (currently in cards) and eventually additional unique components for displaying news, events, profiles, etc. Each spotlight will have a brief headline, summary, and image, and when the spotlight is chosen to feature on the WVU Health cover page, these elements will be dynamically pulled into the page rather than needing to creating an additional cover variation.

Jess and Bill will provide the content for the initial three spotlight items for healthcare simulation week, diversity week, and global health week.

School of Public Health

We let Bill know that the larger news story displayed on the School of Public Health homepage is outdated. This larger story is the most recent story in the Public Health category marked as featured. If no story is marked as featured then the most recent story in the category will display.

Shawn mentioned that the Newsroom application is anticipated to come in early 2024.

Well-being

We will review the Well-being engagement, including analytics from Google Analytics and Clarity.

School of Pharmacy

A tour video has been created for the School of Pharmacy. Tyler will create a very short 15 second montage style video to display behind the feature on the homepage

Tara requested that we begin refreshing the homepage and top-level landing pages in all of the school websites to become more recruitment focused.

STEPS

As more media resources are being created for the STEPS facilities at the Eastern and Beckley campuses, we need to figure out to use the resources to provide awareness. Tyler noted that the STEPS facility at the Eastern campus has some of the latest and advanced technology, including the Victoria manikin.
