Spotlight

We chatted about our vision for spotlights to be thoughtfully considered and created. Spotlights are meant to be topical and while a story or event might inspire a spotlight, this should not be the main focus of the spotlight.

We reiterated that we do want to create a new system for updating the homepage including the ability to choose a spotlight to feature, to choose an event (or events) to feature, or to add a typical promotional message or press release. Choosing a spotlight or an event will pull much of the information from those pages, limiting the need to write the similar content in multiple places.

Events

We briefly discussed how events were promoted for Diversity Week, Healthcare Simulation Week, and Global Health Week. Jess mentioned that the events for Diversity Week are conveyed so last minute that there isn't time to add these events in the events module. The Healthcare Simulation Week events are almost exclusive to an internal audience and potentially not worth promoting in the events module.
