May 23, 2023 Meeting

Notes

Farm to You

We are currently adding the completed homepage and subpage page types in Umbraco. Shawn is meeting with the editors this week to provide training for basic editing in Umbraco and to begin adding content.

Matt will be back on Tuesday next week and will begin building the recipes area. Shawn will provide training on adding recipes once this area of the website is complete. No recipes have been provided yet and this will share a similar structure to the Culinary and Lifestyle Medicine Track recipes.

This is a grant funded project with a pressing deadline.

Operation Blue Sky

The gallery has been added to the Operation Blue Sky page. A caption can be added to each photo in Smugmug and each will instantly display in the gallery.

Directory

Jessica reached out yesterday to let us know about encountering errors in Directory. This might be due to ongoing latency issues with the WVU network.

The application and its servers have error tracking that notifies the programmers and the systems groups. Anyone can reach out to us about potential concerns and errors.

Newsroom

We’re taking advantage of working closer with Marko over the next couple weeks since he’s in a closer time zone.

We will tentatively begin testing the Newsroom application in mid- to late-June.

Well-being

One sheets are being created to promote well-being and student health at WVU.

We will continue to track the analytics on these pages with an emphasis on identifying how new students use these resources.

We reviewed the sample sub-footer with the wellness resources. Shawn wants to get feedback from Sharon Martin or Mike Esposito on the wellness resources component and to discuss potentially providing this component to use on websites throughout the University.

Graduate assistant

Shannon Oaks will be joining the group as a graduate assistant who will help Jessica with creating content for the homepage, well-being pages, etc.

West Virginia Parkinson’s Disease Registry

Tara passed along information from Cathy Orndorff about a website for the West Virginia Parkinson’s Disease Registry which Cathy suggested that Health Sciences web group build this. Shawn will review this information.

School of Nursing

Tyler provided the .mp4 file of the video to place behind the feature on the School of Nursing Students page. We’ve requested a .webm version of this video and that both files are under 2mb.
