May 17, 2022 Meeting

Notes

Commencement

The Health Sciences Commencement website will remain live throughout the year.

Coronavirus information

We will update the messaging in the COVID-19 banner and remove the references to the Coronavirus website in each website in accordance with the University.

Tara and Jess would like the transition the "Protecting our communities" section at the bottom of the WVU Health home page to highlight Who We Are including diversity and Strategic Compass.

Chancellor

Jess will post Clay's "best of commencement" YouTube video to his blog.

Education

Deans have been unable to communicate with the Health and Well-being students in the College of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences to promote transferring into programs at Health Sciences. Tara suggested linking to the WVU Admissions Pathways page from the Education page.

Tara is hoping to hire an advisor for all of Health Sciences who can work with students to find the right program for a particular student in any of the schools under Health Sciences.

Research Grants

Cross-cutting collaboration is important and grants that are shared with other universities will be added to the list of grants. The other universities involved will be displayed as "tags" under the description and with the lead university highlighted.

Gathering and submitting the content for these grant pages should become a part of the workflow for when Nicole Beason and other research staff acquire new grants. This criteria will be used to gather content for other grants from all school communicators bi-annually. We will use the "Research E-News" that Nicole Beason sends out to gather information about grants from faculty and students. WVCTSI is included in this. Bill will use a WuFoo form to gather submissions.

We will add an end date field to each grant and when the end date is passed, the grant will no longer display in the list of grants. We will also add the ability to display links on the Grants page to the Office of Research and Graduate Education, WVTCSI, and research news along with other research related resources.

We will add simple filters to the Grants page to sort the grants alphabetically by title, by amount awarded, and potentially by school.

Shawn's suggestion for promoting the grants on the Research page is to list a few of the grants with a link to the Grants page.
