March 8, 2022 Meeting

Notes

Health home page

Jess will ask Tara about the time frame for displaying the home page version with the Day of Giving messaging.

Jess agreed with our idea to place a version of the home page content plan with notable WVU and Health topics, events, and dates under the Communication area of the website.

Research grant subpages

Shawn proposed the idea of creating a new page type under the Health website specifically for individual research grants. These pages will have minimal information, at least to start, but still be visually engaging.

Clay's page

Jess suggested to Tyler a few potential opportunities coming up to capture video of Clay to then put together as a montage to use at the top of Clay's new page.

Diversity committees

The DEI committees have goals that they want to add to their page in the Diversity website. Each committee and subcommittee page has an Overview field for displaying a brief mission, values, and/or goals.

Jess shared the goals that the DEI committees have provided and she will reach out to each committee to find out the intended audience for presenting these goals on the website. We all agreed that these goals are written more like meeting minutes and that if these are intended to be presented on the website for transparency then perhaps these goals can be rewritten to be more engaging.

Exercise Physiology

Bill inquired about adding the ability to add a YouTube video at the top of the main column in the Exercise Physiology PhD page.

Google Analytics

Bill requested that we create a new view in Google Analytics for the Health website and each school website that excludes WVU traffic. Shawn explained that we already have a segment filter set up for this so that we can set up these views.

Health Sciences news

A date only displays with COVID-10 related stories listed on the Health news page. This decision was made when information about COVID-19 was first being released to help users identify the most updated information.

Jess pointed out that floated images in news stories in the Health Sciences website are "off" in size compared to floated images our other websites. Dan will fix this issue.

Design patterns

Jess mentioned that designs based on the "honey comb" pattern have been created for the WVU BeWell branding.

Tyler shared design patterns that Aira created based on the unique exterior aesthetics on the outside of the Health Sciences Center building.
