December 6, 2022 Meeting

Notes

Well-being

We reviewed the mockup of the Well-being template with the carousel of prominent health related WVU groups. These items will be editable in Umbraco and Jess will find photos for each of these items.

Jess reminded us to add an area with Clay's photo noting that he is the Chief Health and Wellness Officer.

Blue-Sky initiative

Jess met with Laura Gibson and Leslie Miele, who works on strategic planning, to discuss a web presence for the Blue-Sky initiative. This initiative is focused on wellness programming, faculty and staff culture, and recruitment retention. There are three defined pillars: safety, curiosity, fun.

This page or section will be public facing and probably under the WVU Health website, and will need to include the following:

  • highlight the pillars
  • calendar
  • news feed
  • embedded video
  • clearly communicate data driven components

Laura and Leslie prefer the structure of this be similar to the School of Medicine Strategic Compass section.

Inside Out series

Jess inquired about creating a page under the Chancellor website for Clay's "mindfulness" series, soon to be titled "Inside Out". Jess provided content for this page with links to video recordings of past events. Future events will be added to the Events module.

DEI

Court Lanham will be putting a DEI playlist together to hopefully embed on the website. Shawn suggested that they put this playlist together in Spotify since it's popular and free and that they should link to the playlist rather than attempting to embed it.

We asked Tyler about the social media links in the footer in the WVU website limited to Instagram and TikTok. Tyler said that WVU is doing this to try to drive the student audience to Instagram and TikTok and that he is trying to encourage communicators, and others who are requesting marketing support, to utilize these channels to engage with users rather than creating static videos.

Shawn mentioned that creating short and engaging videos can be pretty easy using the right combination of apps.

We agreed that social media links can be creatively paired with profiles and such.
