BeWell
While the direction of the Health Promotion and Wellness website is still being worked out, we will work through the summer to transition the BeWell website to become a part of the Health Sciences family of websites with a more dynamic and customized front page.
Home page
Wendy shared the draft of updated content for the Health Sciences home page and suggested photography (via Slack).
Diversity
Wendy and Shawn approved the color scheme updates for the "Stop Asian Hate" card styles.
News
Shawn shared a progress update of the concepts for the News System rebuild and of the updated Health Sciences Newsroom section. Jason is working on building the various components for listing stories and on building the individual story page. Shawn outlined how this updated section will use topics (tags) to create collections of stories and that we intend to improve the way that "related stories" can be more accurately associated with each story.
Upcoming Events
The University is planning to have Welcome Week in the fall (mid-August) and without "FallFest". We've decided that this larger series of events is a good fit for using the updated way of adding and displaying events in a central area in Umbraco. The Van Liere Research Conference (August 8-12, 2021) and Simulation Week (September 13-19, 2021) will also have a larger event presence at the Health Sciences level. With this central events area, we will have the ability to pull event information into relevant websites.
In addition to using a more elevated event page for Welcome Week, we've decided to restructure the Health Sciences Resources page to accommodate the resources information from our school-level Welcome Week pages.
