10/12/2021 Meeting

Notes

Maps

Tyler inquired about improving the "way-finder" maps on the info stations and the maps on the HSC Indoor Maps website to include highlighted areas with numbers to help users better locate particular spaces. Updating the vector files of these maps is labor intensive because the blueprints provided by WVU facilities have to be hand traced. Wendy is going to reach out to facilities about acquiring updated vector maps with markers, similar to the non-digital "way-finder" maps hanging near elevators around the campus.

Tara shared a great example of campus maps with highlighted and numbered areas from the Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Tyler also suggested the ambitious idea of linking areas of the maps in the HSC Indoor Maps website to the locations of people in Directory.

Analytics

Bill now has access to at least view the analytics for all of the Health Sciences related websites in Google Analytics.

Shawn and Dan have feedback to share with Bill about the Google Analytics dashboard that he's building in Google Data Studio ahead of sharing this with any school communicators. Shawn and Dan also want to work with Bill to create smaller Google Analytics components using Google Data Studio to display in Cabin.

Health Sciences Museum

While the Health Sciences museum is finished being built, we will start preparing a space for information about the museum under the Morgantown Campus section of the Health website.

The WVU Libraries will curate the museum and maintain archives. We expect to provide information about the museum on the Health website including the background of the museum, donor information, and how to visit the museum. Tyler will capture photos of the museum to put on the website ahead of the museum opening.

Tara suggested also mentioning the museum on the STEPS website since a training manikin will be on display in the museum.

Resources

Wendy inquired about adding links to the Campus Mental Health website, the BeWell website, and other wellness and mental health related resources to the Resources page.

We agreed to create a space on the Resources page for links to these resources and we will restructure the bottom area of the front page of the Health website to include links to these new resources, including the Health Sciences museum page, in addition to continuing to link to news, giving, and each campus section.

Tara wants the group to start working on content to update the community section of the Health website which will also include links to wellness and mental health related resources.

Umbraco Access

Wendy inquired about getting access to the School of Medicine Umbraco. Wendy will reach out to Shawn get her access.
